These are taken to control, prevent and relieve the attacks. Asthma has no cure. Asthma drugs can only be taken to control, prevent and relieve the symptoms. The drugs should only be taken after a prescription from an asthma doctor.

Asthma drugs can either be in the form of injections, tablets or inhalers. These medications should always be taken in the correct dosage. Proper diagnosis from an asthma doctor is necessary before a prescription is given. The doctor’s instructions should be followed to the letter.

When one knows what triggers an attack, asthma drugs to protect an attack can be taken. The causes are many and differ in different people. These causes can either be allergic reactions, family history of asthma, air pollution, irritants at work places and viral infections.

Allergic reactions can be caused by animals, pollen, house dust mites, weather conditions, mold and fungi. Drugs to stop allergic reaction when one gets into contact with the triggers can be taken. Just like other asthma drugs, a doctor’s prescription is necessary.

Practically anything may cause an allergic reaction in someone. The ingredient that is an irritant to you personally may be completely harmless to others. It may be in the food you eat, the clothing fibers you are wearing, the pollen of flowers carried on the wind, in the fur of your favorite domestic cat. It may be in the deodorant you are using, or the depilatory, or in any one of your hair preparations.

The reaction usually takes the form of a skin eruption or rash, which breaks out after contact with some specific preparations. Generally, the symptoms are merely redness, swelling or itching in a small area, although sometimes they may resemble the effects of a common cold or hay fever.

If you think you have an allergy to any one of the various cosmetic preparations you use, the first thing to do is try to find out which one of your beauty aids is the culprit.

Rub a little of the cream, lotion, lipstick, or other preparation which you suspect may be unsuitable for you in a small area just below or slightly behind one ear. Do not wash this part of the skin for at least twenty-four hours unless you start to feel some reaction such as burning or itching. When there is any sign of reaction, immediately sponge the skin with warm water and baby-mild soap. There is no need to wait longer, for you have established your case and have pinned down at least one likely offender.

If you feel nothing after three days and if there is no sign of redness, pinkness or rash, then the particular cosmetic you have put to the test is innocent and you must experiment further with others, one by one.

If you are allergic to any cosmetics, do not despair. There are many who suffer in the same way. We are living in the age of allergies and each year sees an increase in the number of allergic reactions reported. Advances in cosmetic science have resulted in more chemically treated and formulated compounds, as well as in a vastly increased number of preparations used in the pursuit of beauty.

Having lasik? San Diego is one of the largest areas throughout California and the United States to have patients undergo this surgery.

Lasik San Diego: The most preferred location for the eye surgery

Undertaking lasik in San Diego is perchance the best alternative one could route to given it is the prevalent city in the state of California and comes outfitted with the best and brightest surgeons and the most precious pre and post operative care. Lasik in San Diego also offers matchless choice in terms of the lasik institutes where one can undergo this procedure.

But know that irrespective of the surgeon and the location, lasik does pose numerous risks, the results may not be everlasting and there are often permanent side effects. On a brighter note, know that many cases have seen patients walking out of the hospitals with enormous results but it is your duty to understand the procedure completely, simplify all details with your caregiver and obligate yourself to this after having weighed the pros and cons.

Most doctors will give you a curved picture about the lasik surgery. It is paramount to check out how a custom lasik surgery can help your eyes. Prior to the materialization of custom lasik, there was a customary procedure undertaken for all patients that often resulted in obstacles. Today with the improvement of new technologies, lasik surgery too has become customized and is tailored to your needs and circumstances.

Custom lasik surgery involves use of a knife to make an incision and remove a flap of the cornea which will later be reshaped using laser rays. It is the shape of the cornea that roots all vision problems and the lasik surgeon confiscates some layers of tissue from directly underneath it so that it can lie appropriately. Then, the cornea is changed and your postoperative care starts.

Dr. Flowers proceeded to distinguish himself in the field of refractive surgery by authoring textbook chapters and articles, and conducting research in corneal surgical mapping and healing patterns. His dedication to providing top quality San Diego Lasik Surgery eye surgery and San Diego cataract surgery for his patients.

Snoring is a widespread problem that can range from merely annoying to quite dangerous to peoples health. The snorer can be at risk as the snoring interferes with the oxygen flow to the brain and often causes them to wake many times during the night disturbing their rest and making them less functional during the day. The other people in the household often suffer more as they cannot sleep with noises that can reach extremely high decibel levels; this also affects their daytime performance as lack of sleep kicks in. Are you looking to buy some sort of solution to help yours or your partners snoring problems? Maybe you have been told to check out a CPAP machine or even research surgery? Discover some even better solutions for your self and get back to living life.

First of all lets start with why you snore. Hopefully you already know this but its worth while revisiting as the only real solution to snoring is to cure the root causes. Have a look at this list of root causes and see if you can identify with two or three of them.

    * Heredity
* Being middle-aged or beyond
* Being male (Sorry Men but its a fact)
* Allergies, asthma, a cold, or sinus infections
* Being overweight or out of shape
* A history of smoking
* Alcohol or medications
* Sleeping posture

All these issues are basically at the root of snoring and all affect the airways in one way or another.

Now we have had a brief look at causes, lets get into looking at the solutions. So what’s hot at the moment. From my research I can tell you that natural remedies are the buzz at the moment. I think the world has become frustrated with trying to use machinery and drugs to help alleviate snoring as most of the time these aren’t required and simply do not fix the root cause.

Take a look at alcohol for instance. By having a drink before you go to bed, a night cap if you will, you are filling your body with one of the best relaxants around. This causes the muscles in your throat to relax during sleep. Now I am sure that even the most chronic a snorer would rather choose a better drinking habit over the use of a CPAP machine. The habit change could be as simple as not drinking before going to bed or switching to lower alcohol content drinks.

So why not use a CPAP machine or Surgery? Don’t get me wrong. These things work and they can be very affective and sometimes there’s just no other choice. What I believe the world is looking at is not turning to these things as a first choice like it has for the past years. This is especially prudent when its not necessary. Most times you will find all you need is some knowledge, a little discipline and a good plan.

Lets have a look at another example. What about being a bloke? These isn’t much you can do about that is their (well apart from another topic we wont get into here). Its not that your a bloke that’s an issue its that most blokes tend to have a narrower airway which leads to being more prone to snoring. How do you deal with that without considering being tethered to a machine the rest of your natural life?

How about doing some simple exercises that singers do to overcome the exact same problem. Imaging 3 minute exercises each night and your on your way to freedom.

As you can see there are plenty of options when consider what to buy for a snoring solution. Some of the best solutions are actually the simplest and they are available now if you look around.

Vitalsleep is a quality product. It will significantly decrease your snoring at night. It has been designed with comfort in mind and is easily adjustable. You will feel more refreshed in the morning after an uninterrupted night of sleep. VitalSleep is the FDA cleared mouthpiece for snoring that can help you stop snoring at night and rest peacefully. It’s a simple and budget friendly solution. The advantages of the VitalSleep stop snoring device include: Provides a Quiet & Restful Sleep, Renews Energy, An Innovative Design to Prevent Snoring, A Fully Customizable Fit

Epinephrine is a drug which is available by prescription only and is used in the treatment of severe allergy attacks. Epinephrine is also commonly known as adrenaline which is used in emergency situations to make the body respond in many different ways including increase heart rate, blood pressure, metabolic rate, and glucose production. The life threatening condition which can occur during a severe allergy attack is called Anaphylaxis. Anaphylaxis can occur within minutes after an individual who is extremely sensitive to a certain allergen comes into contact with the substance. This condition can cause a person to go into anaphylactic shock which can be fatal if not treated immediately. It is essential that if you or someone you are with is experiencing any of the symptoms of anaphylaxis which include hives, abdominal cramps, vomiting, diarrhea, and difficulty breathing, that you immediately seek emergency medical attention.

In the case of a severe allergy attack the only medication which can effectively reduce the symptoms which can be potentially fatal is an adrenaline or epinephrine shot. It is essential that individuals who have known allergies to such things as certain foods or insect stings carry what is called an “epinephrine injection kit”. These kits can be obtained from your physician with a prescription and should be readily available at all times on your person or in your vehicle. It is essential that you learn how to use this medication properly and that you instruct the people whom you are closest to how to use this medication as well. The most common form of this medication comes in what is called an “EpiPen” which holds the correct measured dosage of this medication for your system and should always be injected through the upper thigh muscle.

Hay fever is an allergic reaction most commonly experienced through the months of May to June, which is the haying time, hence the name hay fever. During this season, pollens from trees, grass, weeds and other plants; airborne dirt and dust particles are all around, and once inhaled, may cause allergic rhinitis to the person allergic to it. However, all these foreign materials are around all year so anyone having allergic reactions to these things may experience hay fever anytime of the year.

This allergic reaction may cause a person to experience runny nose and sneezing, sometimes accompanied by colorless mucus, skin itching and watery, red eyes. Other symptoms may also be experienced by the person having allergic reaction. Whatever the symptom is, hay fever is definitely not a good condition so it must be prevented as much as you can. But if the allergic reaction has already happened, there are some things that one can do in order to get rid of hay fever.

The treatment associated with hay fever depends on how bad the allergic reaction is and what is the most prevalent symptom. If the reactions bring runny nose or sneezing, you might as well use something that is for nasal treatment. If you have red, watery eyes, use treatment for your eyes and the same principle goes for other affected body parts.

Allergic reactions can range from mild and barely noticeable to serious and disastrous one. If you are only experiencing a simple reaction, home remedies like honey, onion, garlic, ginger, aroma therapy can be done. If the reaction is not too bad but also not too simple, you can consider using a nasal spray or antihistamine. You can visit the local drugstore and ask for antihistamine prescription or a nasal spray that you can readily consume. If you’re allergic reaction persists, you better consult a doctor before it can get worse.

If you are highly sensitive to airborne materials, you must at least avoid or prevent doing things that can expose you to these foreign materials. When hay season is coming and you know that you are prone to this fever, stock your house with home remedies and medicines so that when hay fever attacks, you can easily get rid of your hay fever.

The interesting thing about latex is that it is a huge part of our society, often without being noticed. For example, carpet backing, pencil erasers, baby pacifiers, wheelchair tires, toys, balloons, and even elastic in clothing is latex. However, most people relate latex to adhesive tape used in hospitals, which is yet another example. Because so many people have latex allergy and the number of things made from latex is growing, symptoms are on the rise.

Take the healthcare industry for example – this particular area is surrounded by latex in the form of tape, surgical gloves, disposable syringes, and blood pressure cuffs. Because doctor’s offices, clinics, and hospitals use so much latex, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health have released results of a study that show a minimum of 12% of all healthcare workers eventually deal with some level of latex allergy. Even so, the biggest concern regarding latex allergy relates to children with disability since their small, sick bodies are highly sensitive and susceptible, putting them at greater risk. Keep in mind that when it comes to latex allergy, there are many different forms of reaction, some minor and some major. For instance, a Type 1 latex allergy is considered as hypersensitive, which produces symptoms ranging from minor such as watery eyes and a runny nose to more severe problems that would include nausea and vomiting, hives, and shortness of breath. With Type 1, the problem is that latex particles become airborne and then inhaled.

For Type 4 latex allergy, the reaction is limited to any exposed area. This would include someone having surgery and the bandages being held on by latex tape. The result is a skin rash and irritation, swelling, and redness that typically lasts anywhere from 24 to 48 hours. Obviously, this type of latex allergy is not nearly as serious although it is quite frustrating. Keep in mind that latex is actually a natural product that comes from a rubber tree’s sap. Because it is so flexible, strong, and costs very little to manufacture, it takes first place over many similar manmade products. If you suspect that you have a latex allergy, you can see your doctor for a thorough examination and blood work. This test involves looking at a certain antibody called IgE immunoassays, which is performed through skin testing.

Food allergy is very dangerous to allergic patients, some time leads up to death of the patients. Several people suffer from this allergy and some of them could be life threatening symptoms that occur due to it. If a patient should not consult immediately after symptoms, it can cause death. Because the occurrence of food allergy symptoms can differ from one person to another, there is then a need to know how to spot food allergy symptoms efficiently.

There are times when food allergy symptoms manifest themselves within minutes after the food item has been taken in. This makes spotting the food allergy much easier, and you can easily deduce which food item caused this particular allergy. However, you cannot discount the fact that it takes a few hours or so for food allergy symptoms to manifest themselves. Because of the time discrepancy, physicians even make the mistake of diagnosing the food allergy symptoms as symptoms of a completely different condition to begin with.

There is also the matter of food allergy symptoms being very different from one another. Some food allergy symptoms may be mild, while others may be severe. There are also some symptoms that bring just a minor sense of discomfort, while others can be life threatening at their occurrence. To illustrate clearly, a mild allergic reaction can be in the form of a simple rash on your arm, which fades out in a short time. A severe reaction, on the other hand, can be inflammation in the throat. This inflammation can swell to such a point where you would find it extremely difficult to breathe already.

Severe food allergies should be detected and addressed as soon as possible. If these are not addressed soon enough, these can lead to poor digestion, as well as the degradation of bodily functions. You would not want this to happen because this can lead to abnormal functioning of your bodily functions in time.

If you want to know how to spot food allergy symptoms, you can actually try conducting an elimination diet, and keeping a food diary of your own. On your diary, you can note down all the food items you take in each day, and the allergic symptoms that these might cause. With this list, you can then start eliminating the harmful food items on your list off your diet.
